Asian Premiere

The ‘Ink Art and New Music’ Creative Exchange Project reaches its finale with not-to-be-missed Asian Premieres at HKU this Fall.

Inspired by the Ink Art Collection of M+ Museum, seven new works for mixed Chinese and Western instruments will receive their Asian Premiere by the aspiring young talents of Ensemble Traversée. Images of the select artworks will be digitally projected to enhance the audience’s experience with ink and sound.

Launched in September 2021, ‘Ink Art and New Music’ aims to explore the innovative potential of the two art forms. Bard Conservatory of Music, HKU, M+ Museum, South China Normal University, and the Tianjin Juilliard School have joined forces to deliver an exciting series of virtual lectures, mentorships, commissions, academic forums, and live performances. We welcome you to join us for this project finale and open your mind to a novel, cross-genre, cross-cultural perspective!
