DIALOGUE With QU4RTETS artists, moderated by Prof. Daniel Chua
CHRISTOPHER THEOFANIDIS At the Still Point (Hong Kong Premiere)
An evening of new music, poetry and dialogue, exactly thirteen years after the devastation of 9/11, to explore journeys of restoration and hope taken in the process of the QU4RTETS artistic collaboration. Led by artists Makoto Fujimura and Bruce Herman, composer Christopher Theofanidis, and theologian Jeremy Begbie, the dialogue presents how their collaboration came to mediate personal and common experiences of devastation, particularly through their artistic and spiritual journeys with T. S. Eliot’s Four Quartets.
Featuring the Hong Kong premiere of compositions by Christopher Theofanidis and Aenon Loo, performed by Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and Jeremy Begbie, and accompanied by selected readings of the Four Quartets.
