Programme
RACHMANINOV Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17
AMMANN Regard sur les traditions (for piano four hands)
RAVEL La Valse
Among the numerous reputable piano duos in our time, the Dördüncü sisters are a pair that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Thanks to their innate sibling bond, Ufuk and Bahar seamlessly complement each other, delivering evocative performances with their flawless technique. Over the years, the Turkish-Swiss piano duo has ventured from classical repertory to the contemporary musical landscape, earning boisterous applause from music lovers worldwide.
In this Hong Kong debut concert, the duo will bring us three works from the late Romantic period to the contemporary, each stands as a stylistic milestone in its time: Rachmaninov’s Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos displays assertive and bold Russian sonorities; Ravel’s La Valse pays tribute to the Viennese waltz with a darker undercurrent; and Swiss contemporary composer Dieter Ammann’s Regard sur les traditions challenges voice-leading conventions in four-hand compositions. You will be carried away by the duo’s extraordinary coherence, impressive originality, and virtuosic synergy!
