Paulo Levi

Born in Belém do Pará in the delta of the amazon jungle, Paulo Levi began his career within the Baptist church followed by a stint at the Carlos Gomes Conservatory of Music where as an exchange student he had a close connection to jazz music in New York, US. At 17 years old Paulo migrated to Paris, France where he learned to speak French and English. There he was accepted at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris as the first Latin-American student participating of the first class of improvisational music, i.e. European Jazz.

Levi is an in demand studio sideman, whose name has appeared on many CDs. He has shared the stage with many famous Brazilian and international artists such as Bibi Ferreira, Zezé Motta, Caetano Veloso, João Bosco, Claudio Nutti, Bebel Gilberto, Naná Vasconcelos, João Donato, Tom Wopat, and the Grammy Nominated Duduka Da Fonseca, to name a few.
