Cui Hongwei 崔宏偉

Cui Hongwei completed his Bachelor of Music programme at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1990 and furthered his studies at the Aspen Music School. In 1995 he obtained his master’s degree from Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University under the teaching of Daniel Benyamini, Richard Ferrin and Donald Melnnes. He has won many prizes in numerous competitions, including First Prize of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music String Competition and First Prize of the Chicago Musical College Concerto Competition twice. Cui was the violist of Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Assistant Principal Violist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Cui is now the violist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

崔宏偉1990年於上海音樂學院完成音樂學士課程後，赴美國亞斯本音樂學校進修；他在羅斯福大學的芝加哥音樂學院跟隨本亞米尼、費林、麥金斯學習，於1995年取得碩士學位。他在多個大賽贏得獎項，包括兩次贏得芝加哥音樂學院協奏曲大賽的冠軍，以及上海音樂學院弦樂大賽的冠軍。崔宏偉曾任水牛城管弦樂團的中提琴樂手及馬來西亞愛樂樂的助理首席中提琴；現為香港管弦樂團的中提琴樂手。
