Recently awarded with the 2nd Prize on the 73rd Geneva Competition following his 1st Prize on the Ghent International Competition, at the age of 24 Vitor Fernandes is recognized as one of the leading clarinetists of his generation. Born in 1994, he started his musical studies in Portugal at the age of 6. Vitor is the winner of over a dozen prizes in national and international competitions. Currently focusing on his soloist career, he presents himself regularly in concerts and also teaching masterclasses all over Europe, South Korea, China, Dubai and the United States of America. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras like the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the SWR Symphonieorchester Stuttgart, and played as a soloist with the Brussels Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyor Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Valenciennes, The Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides, L’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, among others. Vitor has recorded for the Portuguese National Radio and Television, France Musique, Hungarian Radio and National Radio of Slovenia. In 2018, Vitor got his Masters degree in the class of Romain Guyot at the Haute École de Musique de Genève with distinction, receiving the Sih-Woo Cardinaux-Chang Prize.
