Mike Luzecky
Mike Luzecky is a versatile and highly sought-after electric & upright bassist currently based out of North Texas. He has performed and/ or recorded with an array of artists, including Jules Buckley (Metropole Orchestra), Midlake, Alejandro Escovedo, Justin Townes Earle, David Ramirez, Horace Bray, Sirintip, Sky Window, Tatiana ‘Ladymay’ Mayfield, Dave Pietro, and Adam Larson to name a few.
Other notable performances include appearances with the Seattle Symphony, at the Black Deer Festival in Kent, UK, at the Hinterland Music Festival in Saint Charles, IA, the Fortress Festival in Fort Worth, TX, and at the South By Southwest Independent Music Festival in Austin, TX.
In 2018, Mike had the privilege to record bass on the film score for David Lowery’s The Old Man and the Gun. Scored by Daniel Hart (St. Vincent, Dark Rooms) and featuring Robert Redford, the film received critical acclaim including a Golden Globe nomination.
Luzecky, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is an alumnus of the University of North Texas School of Music. He was a scholarship recipient and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. When he is not touring or in the studio, Mike can be found playing in a multitude of collaborative projects around the Dallas/ Fort Worth & Austin Metroplex, including every Sunday night at Paschall Bar in Denton, TX where he has co-led a trio with Matt Young since 2015.
