劉芳希 Fangxi Liu
Praised by JoAnn Falleta for her excellent leadership and beautiful playing, Chinese violinist Fangxi Liu is currently a first violinist at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Liu began her music education at age four, and she made her solo debut with the Chinese Movie Philharmonic Orchestra in Beijing. During her studies in Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts she was a student of Michael Ma. She has also participated in masterclasses with world renowned musicians such as Cho-Liang Lin, Midori Gotō, Vadim Repin, Ani Kavafian, Ida Kavafian, to name a few.
Fangxi was honored with the special prize at the XV International Violin Competition “Andrea Postacchini” in Italy. She was a “Robert H.N.Ho Family Foundation” orchestra fellow of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Liu holds a B.M for violin performance and a B.A in Art History of Asian Studies from Bard College Conservatory of Music, studied with Yi-Weng Jiang.
