Cammer Musicus

Cammer Musicus is a local baroque orchestra founded by Die Konzertisten Charity Institute in collaboration with Early Music Society of Hong Kong. The orchestra is dedicated to give historically informed performances of music of the 17th- and 18th- centuries, and to promote it to the general public. The orchestra gave its critically acclaimed debut in December 2015, performing Handel’s Messiah under the baton of baroque music specialist Jonathan Cohen. It has launched the Bach Pilgrimage Series together with Die Konzertisten since October 2016, performing Bach’s cantatas according to their liturgical seasons. In April 2017, the group was led by the world-renowned conductor and scholar John Butt in a well-received performance of Bach’s St John Passion.
