Described as offering “astonishing waves of sound, passion pouring forth from every pore” (Bachtrack), this concert will feature two remarkable octets by Mendelssohn and Romanian composer George Enescu. These pivotal pieces lay the groundwork for later octets, encapsulating the vast harmonic and textural potential that string octets can express.
